CT State Troopers Arrest Driver Accused Of Striking Police Cruiser

A Connecticut man has been arrested for allegedly hitting a police cruiser while officers were attempting to make a traffic stop.

New Haven County resident Jean Carlos Colon, age 26, of Meriden, was apprehended by Connecticut State Police on Thursday, Nov. 25, after troopers received a lookout from the Mohegan Police for a red and black Mini Cooper that was had hit a Mohegan Police car, state police said.

While troopers were on the lookout for the vehicle, they received notice it had been involved in a crash in New London County on Route 2 in the Town of Bozrah, state police said.

When troopers arrived on the scene, Colon was arrested and charged with:

  • Inferring with an officer
  • Criminal possession of a firearm
  • DUI/Drugs
  • Driving without insurance
  • Driving while license under suspension

He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
