STAMFORD, Conn. A Norwalk man sitting on a bicycle eating takeout Chinese food was shot by another bicyclist Tuesday night on Fairfield Avenue on Stamford's West Side, Police Capt. Richard Conklin said.
The gunshot went through the man's hand and into his abdomen, Conklin said. The 25-year-old victim went into the lobby of the nearby Hilton Hotel to ask for help. EMS was summoned and took the man to Stamford Hospital, where a pill bottle containing suspected crack cocaine was found in his possession, Conklin said.
The shooter was described as a young black male. Conklin said police canvassed the area of the shooting for witnesses but that no one had heard anything, probably because they were running air conditioning and had their windows closed.
The wounded man's name was not released. Conklin said the shooting could be drug related. No drug possession charges had been filed yet against the victim.
