STAMFORD, Conn. – Yolanda "Lonni" M. Smith, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died Oct. 12 at Edge Hill.
Smith was born Nov. 20, 1937, to Joseph Rocco Carcusa and Marie Christine Carcusa, graduating from Mother of God Academy in Stamford and the nursing program at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury.
She returned to the work force as her children grew older, working up to the position of court clerk with the State of Connecticut Juvenile Court Division until retirement.
Smith was predeceased by her parents and husband Bill, and is survived by her two daughters, Christine Diane Smith-Humphrey of Gilbert, Ariz. and Veronica Lynn Feinstein of Stamford, two granddaughters, sister Antoinette Beal of Brookfield, and Joseph Carcusa of Fairfield, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project are welcomed.
A private internment will be held at a later date.
