Virginia 'Jean' Boccagna, 91, of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Virginia "Jean" Marie Boccagna of Stamford died July 4 at Stamford Hospital. She was 91.

Born in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, she was a daughter of Joseph and Adelina Fernandes. Boccagna spent most of her life in Stamford. She enjoyed being outdoors, and caring for her flowers and plants in her garden.

Boccagna is survived by three children, Lynda (Tom) Pekar, Kai Boccagna and Kim (Michael) Elder; two sisters, Leanora Springer, of Florida, and Theresa Rudolfo, of Trinidad and Tobago; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Joseph John Price Jr.; a brother, Gabriel Fernandes; and a sister, Dolly Fernandes.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home in Stamford. A memorial service will start at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Fairfield Memorial Park in Stamford.
