Naomi Schreiber, 84, Of Stamford, Worked For Ferguson LIbrary

STAMFORD, Conn. - Naomi Schreiber, a Stamford resident of 64 years, died Thursday, Oct 2. She was 84.

Schreiber was born Oct. 8, 1929, in Ronkonkoma, N.Y., to Seymour and Elizabeth Singer. She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After her marriage she moved to Stamford in 1950, and raised her family. She resumed her education, graduating from the University of Bridgeport in 1969 and earning a master's of library science from Southern Connecticut State University. She was a decades-long fixture of the Ferguson Library children's department.

Schreiber is survived by her daughters, Annea, Julie and Michelle; sons-in-law; and eight grandchildren; four siblings; many nieces, nephews; and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Robert Schreiber.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6 at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home in Stamford, followed by a burial at Agudath Sholom Cemetery. The family will be sitting shiva Tuesday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 122 Palmers Hill Road, apartment 3316.

Donations in Naomi's honor may be made to the Friends of the Ferguson Library and the American Cancer Society.
