STAMFORD, Conn. – Nancy J. Skura (Annunziata), 94, formerly of Stamford, died Wednesday, July 22 at her home in Las Vegas.
She was born in Stamford April 5, 1921, to the late Antonio and Rose Carella. She grew up and attended schools in Stamford. She worked as a machinist at Holson Company for 10 years before retiring. She loved cooking her Italian dishes, watching the cooking channel, doing puzzles for hours and doing whatever she could for her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Potts (Nathan) of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Skura; a daughter, Linda Gilbertie; and three brothers.
Family and friends may call Thursday, Aug. 6 from 4-8 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 7 at 9 a.m. and proceed to Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford, for a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Darien, Connecticut.
