Mary Herman, 102, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Mary Inzitari Herman, of Stamford, died Oct. 11 at St. Camillus Health Care Center. She was 102.

Herman was born Dec. 8, 1912, to Pasquale and Felicia Ciombrone Inzitari.

She was a seamstress, worked at New Canaan Country Day and worked as the parts manager alongside her son and grandson at Shippan Shore Marina and John W. Herman Marine Center.

Herman was predeceased by her parents, husband Walter, son John, daughter Rochelle Herman Schiller, granddaughter Tama Herman Parrish, longtime companion Matthew Reilly, sister Stephanie and brothers Joseph, Dominick and Frank.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Victoria Gostomski Herman, son-in law Thomas Schiller, six grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be from 9-10:30 a.m. Friday at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford.

A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 1200 Shippan Ave., Stamford.

Interment will follow at St. John's RC Cemetery in Darien.
