STAMFORD, Conn. -- Margaret "Peg" Keaney, 73, died on Thursday, Oct. 1.
She was born in Stamford on April 19,1942 and was a nearly lifelong resident of Stamford until her final three years, when she lived at Parsonage Cottage in Greenwich.
She is survived by her children, son Frank J. Keaney Jr. and his wife Marchely of Valrico, Fla., daughter Maura Keaney and husband Pete Chisholm of Lorton, Va., daughter Elizabeth Hubert of Sacramento, Calif.; and daughter-in-law Milca Keaney of Norwalk.
She is also survived by her three grandsons, Hugh Keaney and Sean Hugh and Brian Keaney.
She is also survived by dozens of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, sisters- and brothers-in-law and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Francis J. "Frank" Keaney; her son John Hugh Keaney; her sisters Mary Jane Marshall and Sally Papczun; and her brothers John "Bud," Robert and Daniel Mulrooney.
She was the youngest daughter of Sara (Troy) and John Mulrooney, who owned Mulrooney's Market in North Stamford.
She attended Stamford Catholic High School and graduated from Central Catholic High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., after her parents retired to Florida during her senior year.
She returned to Stamford after graduation and worked for many employers in Stamford, including General Electric Credit Corp., Southern New England Telephone, Courtland Gardens Nursing Home, Office and Services, Vestron Video and the law firm of St. Onge, Steward, Johnston, and Reems.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ferguson Library Adopt-a-Book Program.
