STAMFORD, Conn. -- Karl S. Fritz -- a Stamford resident, formerly of Fairfield -- died on Sunday, March 6. He was 90.
A Navy veteran in the '40s, Fritz and his wife were charter members of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Stamford, serving as a deacon and elder. He was a member of VASA for over 60 years, the American Legion and the U.S. Navy Memorial in Washington, DC.
He worked at Marcoloy, Inc., as a tool and die maker and metallurgist. He loved gardening, fixing things and stamp collecting.
Fritz is survived by his daughters, Kristine Scerbo and Karen Fritz; son-in-law Dominic Scerbo of Trumbull; grandchildren Jonathan Scerbo and his wife Jessica, Linnea McHenry and her husband Brent, and Jordan Scerbo; and great-grandchildren Alice and Adalyn Scerbo.
He was predeceased by his wife, M. Irene Dahlgren Fritz, and his parents, Einar and Anna Johnson Fritz.
Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., in Trumbull, with a funeral service at 7 p.m. Interment be private, in the Fairfield Memorial Park, in Stamford.
