Jeanne S. Loughlin, 91, Of Stamford, Former Elementary School Teacher

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Jeanne S. Loughlin, formerly of Stamford, died on Friday, May 29, in Severn, Md. She was 91 years old.

She was born in Stamford on Feb. 21, 1924, to James and Elizabeth Smith. Loughlin attended Julia A. Stark Elementary School and graduated from Stamford High School with the class of 1942.

She went on to attend West Haven State Teacher's College and graduated with the class of 1946. Following her graduation, she taught kindergarten at Franklin Elementary School and, later, fourth- and fifth-grades at Julia A. Stark School. 

Loughlin is survived by her two sons, Peter D. Loughlin and Phillip D. Loughlin; daughter-in-law, Rosa Loughlin; two grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. She was predeceased by her husband, William J. Loughlin and two brothers.

The Loughlin family will receive family and friends at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford on Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. at The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist Church, 279 Atlantic St., in Stamford. Interment will immediately follow Mass at Long Ridge Union Cemetery in Stamford. 

The Loughlin family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., in Stamford.
