STAMFORD, Conn. – Frances Borgia Paulsen, a longtime Stamford resident, died Friday, Jan. 8.
She worked as an registered nurse with St. Joseph's Hospital and Eagle Towers in Stamford. She grew up on a farm in Springfield, Ky., and was the middle child of 11.
She enjoyed crafts, decorating, music and walking. Her proudest times were when she traveled overseas to Saudi Arabia where she worked as a nurse and met her husband.
She is survived by one daughter, Paula of Arlington, Va.; and one son, John and his wife, Ann–Britt of Park Ridge, N.J.; two grandchildren, Cristina and Victoria Paulsen; a sister, MaryJo Hamilton; and brothers Julian, Bobby, Fred and Larry Edelen.
She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, William P.; and her parents, James Thomas Edelen Sr. and Stella Hill Edelen.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at noon at Long Ridge Union Cemetery, Erskine Road, Stamford.
Arrangements are entrusted to Shippan's Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford.
