STAMFORD, Conn. -- Coretta M. Walker, a Stamford native, died Thursday, Sept. 10. She was 76.
She was born Aug. 26, 1939, in Stamford to the late Peter B. Walker and Elizabeth Stroman Walker.
Walker received a Bachelor of Science degree from South Carolina State University and was employed with AT&T until retirement.
She is survived by her brother, Ellis M. (Shirley) Walker; a sister, Betty A. Walker; her nephews, Tremayne Walker, Tracy Walker and Teague (Alekandra) Walker; a greatnephew, Kaden Walker; a great-niece, Kiera Walker; and a cousin, Lisa Robinson.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 10-11 a.m. at Downer Funeral Home, 31 Stillwater Ave., followed by a service of celebration at 11 a.m. at Bethel AME Church, 150 Fairfield Ave. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, 66 Woodland Place.
