STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford resident Carmela Carrizzo died on, Thursday, Feb. 11.
Born in Italy, Carrizzo was raised in the Bronx. She was a well-respected business owner of multiple hair salons in Connecticut and New York.
She was survived by her children, Speranza Carrizzo and her husband Paul Soden, and Antonio Carrizzo and his wife Bernadette Carrizzo; grandchildren Danielle, Joseph, Paul, Mia and Jonathan; siblings Guisseppe Federico, Antoinette Iodice, Victoria Cioffi, Vincenzo Federico and Alice Crognale.
Carrizzo was predeceased by her husband, Giovan Guisseppe Carrizzo; parents Francesco Federico and the Anna Federico.
A memorial services will be held at 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Castiglione Funeral Home, 544 Old Post Rd. #3, in Greenwich. The funeral will be held at St. Paul's Church, 84 Sherwood Ave., in Greenwich, with burial to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, in Hartsdale, New York.
