STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Ferguson Library's Harry Bennett Branch in Stamford will have new and increased hours on Thursdays.
The library will now be open from 1 to 6 p.m. on Thursdays because of a generous private donation.
“The Ferguson Library is a treasure to the City of Stamford,” Mayor David Martin said.
“It is important to me that the city support our libraries in their mission of serving the community, in conjunction with other private and public funding," he said.
"With this donation and others like it in the past, more people have an opportunity to access their library, which is great news!” he said.
“We are delighted to open the Harry Bennett Branch additional hours thanks to a generous anonymous gift from a regular Harry Bennett customer,” said Alice Knapp, President of The Ferguson Library.
“Over the last two years, The Ferguson Library has been able to expand hours and increase bookmobile service with increased funding from the city, and generous private gifts, including grants from the Steven & Alexandra Cohen and Velaj Foundations," Knapp said.
"It is a joint private-public effort to restore Ferguson Library hours," she said.
The Harry Bennett Branch of the Ferguson Library is located at 115 Vine Road. Visit the website for more information.
