Benjamin Gregor, 34, of Uncasville in the southeastern part of the state, was sentenced in Hartford federal court to 66 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for his role in the drug trafficking ring, U.S. Attorney John Durham announced this week.
According to Durham, Gregor and 10 other co-conspirators were arrested in February following a joint task force investigation that included local and state police agencies who were looking into the sale of heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine and illegal weapons.
At the time of his arrest on Feb. 21, a search of Gregor’s residence found that he was in possession of 470 grams of cocaine. On March 5, a grand jury in Hartford charged Gregor and 23 others with various offenses.
Gregor’s criminal history includes a prior federal narcotics conviction, and state convictions for domestic violence-related offenses.
Durham said that Gregor has been detained since his arrest, and he pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute, and to possess with intent to distribute, 500 grams or more of cocaine on July 10.
