Eversource has prepared a series of line workers, tree crews and other essential support staff members to keep residents safe as the storm pummels the surrounding areas.

“We are closely monitoring weather conditions and planning accordingly so we have crews in position to respond and be there for our customers when they need us,” said Eversource Vice President of Electric System Operations Mike Hayhurst in a news release. “Given the extremely cold temperatures we’re expecting following the storm, it’s crucial for customers to take precautions and prepare in the event of power outages.”

Though Eversource will be doing its part to keep residents safe and connected, it’s urging people to take proper precautions during the storm. Gather the materials to put together an emergency storm kit with food, water, first aid supplies, flashlights, and a battery-powered radio. Ensure that all of your mobile devices stay charged in case of an outage.

Eversource also encourages residents to report downed wires to 911. Outages can also be reported at www.eversource.com or by calling (800) 286-2000. Customers with the two-way texting feature can also send a text message to report an outage and receive to-the-minute updates.
