“This is a very exciting development for us as it reinforces CLC’s commitment to serving our communities and providing a high-quality pre-school and childcare experience for those who might otherwise not have access,” said Marc Jaffe, CEO of Childcare Learning Centers.

“The expansion of CLC with the new Lockwood Wing will help further strengthen our presence on the East Side. We’re in a great position to effectively serve the entire community here.”

The new Lockwood Wing is at 83 Lockwood Ave. It was made possible by a collaboration with the City of Stamford and the State of Connecticut. The state provided a grant of $1.4 million for the center.

Formerly home to the K-Wing at Rogers International School, the Lockwood Wing features four new pre-school classrooms after renovations. It will share a playground with Childcare Learning Centers' neighboring Maple Avenue location.

Sixty children currently are enrolled at the Lockwood Wing, which employees nine teachers, two receptionists, an education coordinator and a family social service worker.

The event was held in September.
