STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford organization plans to hold a Black Lives Matter rally Monday night, a week after two black men were killed by police in separate incidents in Louisiana and Minnesota.
The rally is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Stamford Government Center.
It is intended to inspire “positive change in Stamford as it relates to housing, education, and improving the overall quality of life in the City of Stamford and beyond for ALL," according to the event’s Facebook page.
More than 100 people plan to attend the rally, and 1,000 people were invited, the post said.
The organizer, the Stamford Community Collective, is “a group of citizens working together to create synergy for improved impact and results in Stamford,” according to its Facebook page.
