STAMFORD, Conn. -- Jennifer Pharr Davis, the 2012 National Geographic Adventurer of the Year, will speak at a Brown Bag Lunch at the Harry Bennett Branch of The Ferguson Library on July 20 at 1 p.m.
Davis is an author, hiker, adventure speaker, and the 2012 National Geographic Adventurer of the Year. She has covered over 12,000 miles of long distance trails on six different continents and has hiked with her husband and two-year-old daughter in all fifty states.
In 2011, she hiked the 2,181-mile Appalachian Trail in 46 days, 11 hours, and 20 minutes, maintaining a remarkable average of 47 miles per day. By doing this, she claimed the overall (male or female) fastest known time on the “A.T.” and became the first woman to set the mark. Her record still holds.
Bring your lunch and relax as Davis shares slides and stories. Dessert will be provided. The Harry Bennett Branch of The Ferguson Library is located at 115 Vine Road, Stamford.
