STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford resident Roberta Cohen has joined the board of directors of Liberation Programs Inc.

“Alcoholism and addiction have affected the lives of many people that I have known,” Cohen said. “Liberation Programs brings many treatment options to people in our communities that not only help with addiction but also help with the issues that can ensure continued sobriety such as housing, employment and mental health counseling. I have been impressed with the dedicated professionals who manage Liberation and I am looking forward to contributing to this valuable organization.”

Liberation Programs is a private, nonprofit substance abuse prevention and treatment organization serving more than 2,000 individuals and families annually throughout lower Fairfield County. It provides services for youth, adults and families that include two inpatient treatment programs, outpatient and intensive outpatient services, health education for older adults and people living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses, treatment and resources for adolescents and their families, education and prevention efforts in the community, and permanent supportive housing for families.

Cohen is the founder of 2.0 Marketing LLC, which helps clients better differentiate their brands, penetrate new markets and drive sales in today’s fast-moving business environment. She has an extensive sales and marketing background that spans 20 years in many industries, including financial services, manufacturing, health care and technology.

She lives in Stamford with her husband and has a son who attends Stamford High School and a daughter at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.
