No school on Friday meant that two youngsters could get in some extra practice time at Stamford Twin Rinks on Hope Street. Eight-year-old Claire Knight and her cousin Owen Collins, also 8, were some of the first skaters onto the ice Friday morning.
"The rinks are always extra busy on snow days, and we expect that today as well," said Caitlin Barnes, who was giving lessons to the cousins.
