STAMFORD, Conn. -- The musical "Follies" is running at Stamford's Kweskin Theatre through June 27.
"When a dear friend gave me the recording of 'Follies,' I didn't know anything about the show, but fell in love with the score immediately," said Lou Ursone, Curtain Call executive/artistic director and producer for this production. "When I read the script which was written by the author of one of my favorite plays - 'The Lion In Winter,' I knew it had to be something special."
In Stephen Sondheim's and James Goldman's Tony Award-winner, the musical theater serves as a metaphor for naiveté in the post-Kennedy years and the collapse of American innocence.
The musical opened nearly 45 years ago and is now playing at Kweskin Theatre for the first time.
"Follies" plays Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m. There will be two Thursday performances at 8 p.m. on June 18 and 25.
Tickets are $32 for adults, $24 for seniors and $16 for students and children. All seats are $22 on Thursdays. To purchase tickets, call the box office at (203)-461-6358 or visit www.curtaincallinc.com.
