Stamford Middle School Teacher Scores Big Win On 'Jeopardy!'

A Stamford middle school teacher has a shot at winning a $100,000 after earning a spot on the "Teachers Tournament" of "Jeopardy!".

King School English teacher Ben Schwartz placed first in the quarterfinals of the show.s special edition which aired on Friday, May 10, by winning $22,001.

Friday's win secures Schwartz a spot in the semifinals, which airs on Tuesday, May 14, she says.

The winners of the three semifinal matches, May 13 to 15, will face off in a two-day final Thursday, May 16, and Friday, May 17, said Susie Eun, the show's publicity manager. The teacher with the highest score in the contest will win the $100,000.

Although filmed in April, Schwartz has had to keep whether he wins a secret. 

The annual "Teachers Tournament," features 15 teachers in total, nine have moved on to the semifinals.
