Planned for 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 13, the Harvest Table event is a fundraiser for Stamford-based New Covenant Center, a meal program and food pantry that serves homeless, elderly, disabled, working poor, and children throughout Fairfield County.

In addition to the guest speaker, the fundraiser also features food samples and demonstrations, a silent auction and a Golden Ticket Raffle. Also new this year is online and mobile bidding with more information available on the website.

Barricelli is a third-generation baker who began his cooking career more than 25 years ago at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N. Y. He has worked in New York City restaurants such as River Cafe and the Four Seasons, and has been in business as a restaurant owner for over 20 years.

In addition, Barricelli was the PBS host of "Everyday Baking from Everyday Food" and a co-host of "Everyday Food" with Martha Stewart.

New Covenant Center opened a new 8,000-square-foot facility at 174 Richmond Hill last summer, serving meals twice a day each day. Including the breakfast program and food pantry, the center provides over 700,000 meals a year.

It was founded more than 40 years ago as an interfaith project of Catholic Charities of Fairfield County. The new facility includes a modern kitchen, a dining area, expanded food storage area and refrigeration, a spacious food pantry area and additional space for other services.
