Dog In Long Island Shelter, Smart, Enjoys Nature, Needs Home

Eight years is long enough for a smart dog who loves belly rubs and romps on the nature trail to live in a shelter.

Long Island animal shelter resident Zeus is a smart dog who loves nature in need of a home.

Nine-year-old pit bull Zeus also enjoys treats and playing with toys, according to Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter Education Program Coordinator Genna Tudda.

"He is a goofy guy with a very loving personality. He has even appeared on New 12 Long Island with the Town of North Hempstead Supervisor, Judi Bosworth," Tudda said.

What's more? Zeus knows all of his commands "and then some. He is always impressing us with his smarts."

Tudda added, "He has nothing but love to give and is more than ready to find his new family."

Zeus is seeking a dog-savvy human companion with a secure yard who understands Zeus must be the only pet in the home.
