What's Happening This Week In Stamford

Monday, July 23

Red Cross Blood Drive: 8 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. RFR Realty will host a Red Cross Blood Drive at 1 Stamford Plaza.

Zoning Board: 7 p.m. Stamford’s Zoning Board will hold a public hearing and meeting on several issues facing the city including the new construction plan for Stamford Hospital. The meeting will be held on the fourth floor of the Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Boulevard.

Tuesday, July 24

Books and Bricks Lego Workshop: 2 p.m. Take your child to the Ferguson Library to hear a story about building then to build their own creation. The program is for children 5-10 and registration is required, 203-351-8242.

The Cocktail Classroom: 7 p.m. Learn how to make muddied drinks from Barcelona Stamford’s lead bartenders. The program is $30 plus tax and tip, and the restaurant is located at 222 Summer St.

Wednesday, July 25

Learn How To Do Henna: 3 p.m. The Ferguson Library is giving teenagers the chance to learn Henna from artist Dinal Doshi. Registration is required, 203-351-8243.

Spyra Gyro: 6:30 p.m. American Jazz fusion band, Spyra Gyro, will be headlining this week’s Jazz Up July concert in Columbus Park. They will be joined by Richard “Cookie” Thomas & Friends, and the concert is free to attend.

Thursday, July 26

Alive @ Five: 5 p.m. Winner of “The Voice” Javier Colon will headline the weekly concert series in Columbus Park. The concerts are on rain or shine and the entrance fee is $10.

The Goonies: 9 p.m. Head over to the Avon Theatre, 272 Bedford St., to see young Josh Brolin and company in the classic movie “The Goonies.” Ticket prices are as follows: Carte Blanche: Free, Members: $6, Students/Seniors: $8, Nonmembers: $11.

Friday, July 27

Friday Farm Market: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Head over to the Stamford Museum & Nature Center, 39 Scofieldtown Road, and purchase fresh food from local vendors.

SoundWaters Sunset Sail: 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Bring your own dinner and drinks and sail around Stamford Harbor. The schooner will leave from Stamford Harbor Park Marina, 860 Canal St.
