STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford firefighters will be hosting a multi-location open house at select firehouses throughout the city Saturday as part of Fire Prevention Month.

The event will be from 11 2 p.m. This is a family-friendly event that will give guests the opportunity to tour the firehouses, see fire trucks and other equipment, meet and interact with firefighters and learn about the life-saving services provided by members of the Stamford Professional Fire Fighters Association.

Fire prevention coloring books will be handed out to children and will include an informational fact sheet for adults on how firefighters operate on a day-to-day basis.

“Since October is Fire Prevention Month, our firefighters see this as a great opportunity for those in the community to get an up-close and personal look at what firefighters do on a daily basis. It’s a great chance to ask questions and learn more about how Stamford is protected," said Stamford Professional Fire Fighters Association president Brendan Keatley.

Those who plan to attend can choose to visit any or all of these firehouses during the designated timeframe:

  • Station 1: 629 Main St.
  • Station 2: 215 Washington Blvd.
  • Station 3: 80 Fairfield Ave.
  • Station 4: 364 Shippan Ave.
  • Station 5: 1620 Washington Blvd.
  • Station 6: 7 Arthur Place.
