STAMFORD, Conn. -- SilverSource -- formerly known as Senior Services of Stamford -- is pleased to announce its 16th annual charity golf outing, set for Monday, May 23rd at Stamford's Rockrimmon Country Club.

The tournament raises funds for the Ride to Wellness Medical Transportation Program and the Housing Stability Fund. This year's event will also honor Paul and Patricia Kuehner. Paul, president of Building and Land Technologies, and his wife Patricia are involved with numerous charities, from Stamford all the way to Zambia, where they're active with an orphanage.

"Together they are a formidable force for changing the lives of those who need a hand, both at home and abroad," a news release notes.

"The annual golf tournament is a fun day for everyone, and also an opportunity to make a real difference," said Karen Kelly, SilverSource board chair. "Funds raised at the tournament support efforts that combat two of the top challenges facing lower income older adults.

"The Ride to Wellness transportation program promotes healthy aging by ensuring safe affordable transportation to medical and dental appointments. The Housing Stability Fund prevents homelessness through crucial programming. I invite everyone to come out, have fun and join us in supporting our older neighbors in need."

"Our driver may be more popular than Big Bertha, because he shows up in the SilverSource car and gets people to their appointments on time," said SilverSource Executive Director Kathleen Bordelon.

The event begins with a pre-tournament brunch and registration at 10:30 a.m., and the tournament begins with a shotgun start at noon. In addition to team awards, golfers will compete for individual prizes in closest to the pin, longest drive and putting contests. At 5 p.m., players will enjoy a lively reception where they can mingle and vie for special auction and raffle prizes, followed by a seated dinner at 6:15 p.m.

The cost for foursomes is $1,000, and $300 for individuals. Sponsorship packages are also available. All are welcome, and registration is now open. Do so here, or call 203-324-6584.

Rockrimmon Country Club is located at 2949 Long Ridge Rd., in Stamford.
