STAMFORD, Conn. -- A local nonprofit organization, STARelief & Pet Assistance, is hosting its third annual “Doggy Day Palooza” Dog Wash and Pet Fun Day on Saturday, May 21 at the Stamford Dog Park.
Doggy Day Palooza is a family-friendly event. Clean canines will be coupled with assorted games, a doggie photo booth and raffle prizes. The suggested donation of $8 per dog wash.
All proceeds go towards funding the organization’s Pet Food Pantry program and the Home for Life grants that provide life-saving medical care for pets in need.
“We firmly believe that no one should have to choose between feeding themselves or feeding their pet,” said volunteer Executive Director Heather Scutti. “We also believe that pets should be treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.”
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Stamford Dog Park is located at 39 Courtland Ave.
STARelief and Pet Assistance is a volunteer-run organization, based in Stamford, that provides life-saving pet food and veterinary care, emergency boarding and foster care to pets whose caretakers are struggling with financial hardship.
Since its inception in 2012, STARelief has provided over 31,624 pounds of food to hungry pets, funded $77,465 in veterinary care expenses, assisted over 248 individuals and families in need and adopted out over 55 dogs and cats at their special adoption events.
