Award-Winning Musical 'Follies' Makes Kweskin Theatre Debut In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn -- A musical that opened nearly 45 years ago and has never played on Stamford's Kweskin Theatre stage, "Follies," will  continue through June 27.

This Tony Award-winning musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Goldman is Curtain Call's final offering of the 2014-2015 season.

"When a dear friend gave me the recording of Follies, I didn't know anything about the show, but fell in love with the score immediately," said Lou Ursone, Curtain Call executive/artistic director and producer for this production in a press release. 

The director is Karen Randazzo, who is known to Fairfield County audiences as the author and director of hundreds of "Partners in Crime" murder mysteries and for 27 years of Christmas shows.

The cast of 32 includes, from Stamford: Tom Burke, Lynne Colatrella, Mary Fairbank, Andy George, Casey Keeler, Bennett Leeds, Carolyn Paulus, Ellen Krincik Porto, Dan Travers, William Squier and Gail Yudain; from Norwalk: Cathy Cavender, Carol Foley and Claire Kenny; from Westport: Seth Barkan, Karen Chodash and Sofia Weinberg; from New Canaan: Christopher Beaurline and Dana Posner; from Fairfield: Jim Hisey and Duane Lanham; from Trumbull: Tracey Marble; from Huntington: Theresa LeBel; from Ridgefield: Elizabeth D'Aiuto; from Stratford: Betty McCready; from Wilton: Kevin Sell; from Woodbridge: Marilyn Olsen; Elise Godfrey, of Ossining, N.Y.; Leanne Janos, of Somers, N.Y.; Bob Praid, of Rye, N.Y.; Rebecca Stempel, of Mount Vernon, N.Y.; and Zach Stuckelman, of Armonk, N.Y.

In addition to Randazzo, the creative team includes music direction by Greg Chrzczon, choreography by Kari Sweeney Efferen, set design by Peter Barbieri Jr., costumes by Megan Latte Ormond and lighting design by Adam Lobelson. The stage management team, led by Joe Vitti, includes Jordon Michael Hensley and Sara Zimmerman.

"Follies" will play Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m. There also are two Thursday evening performances at 8 p.m., June 18 and 25. Prices are $32 for adults, $24 for senior citizens and $16 for students and children. All seats are $22 for the Thursday shows.
