Furthermore, she wanted to give her kids something they could get involved in while educating them in business. Thus, Humbled Coffeehouse was born.
Nestled in the Springdale neighborhood between schools and homes, Humbled, which opened Wednesday, Oct. 4., offers eco-friendly coffees, delectable sweets (the crumb cake is a top seller) and bagels in an inviting setting designed by Vaccaro herself.
Owned by Vaccaro’s oldest children, Mike Coppola and Brianna Tarzi (the main barista), Humbled is a true family affair, but there’s no question whose soul permeates the premises.
Hanging on one wall is Vaccaro’s mantra: "It's all good." Additional inspiration adorns the others.
“So much is going on in the world today,” she said, “Why not be positive and have hope?" Though at one point she thought she'd open a boutique, she is instead, overseeing coffee.
Said Vaccaro: "I want to bring things back to simplicity, to the basics. To create a place where people can take time to sit down and smell the coffee.”
Humbled is located at 575 Hope St. and is open daily. Their website is still under construction (www.humbledcoffeehouse.com) but you can contact them at 475-619-9915.
