Rain Expected In Shelton As Hermine Drifts Northwest

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Residents can expect another day of on-and-off rain in Fairfield County as Hermine continues moving towards the Northwest before making an expected turn toward the Northeast on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Hermine brings with it the continued possibility of coastal storm surges, high winds and rain.

A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 11a.m. is forecast for Tuesday with brisk winds between 18 and 20 mph. High temps will hover in the mid-70s, before dropping to the mid-60s overnight.

Rain continues on Wednesday with a 30 percent chance of rain as temperatures inch up to the low 80s. Winds are forecast to drop to 9 to 11 mph.

A break from the rain and wind comes on Thursday when the rain chance drops to 20 percent as Hermine begins to move away from the coast. Winds will be 5 to 8 mph.

Residents can expect a return to sunny skies on Friday with a high near 85 and light winds.
