Fatal Crash: 23-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Stamford
One person was killed in an overnight crash in Fairfield County. It happened just before 11:10 p.m. Friday, June 7, in Stamford at 100 Bridge St. in Scalzi Park, An initial investigation revealed that Oscar Chinchilla-Najarro, a 23-year-old Stamford resident, was operating a 2001 Kawasaki dirt bike in the park. While traveling around the outer roadway of the park, Chinchilla-Najarro lost control of the motorcycle, mounted the curb, and crashed along the guardrail on the east side of the park, according to Sgt. Body Found At Fairfield County Park, Police Say
A man was found dead in a Fairfield County park with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The incident took place in Stamford at Scalzi Park on Tuesday, July 26. Officers are conducting a death investigation after the body of the 33-year-old Stamford resident was found in the park, said Lt. Tom Scanlon, of the Stamford Police. A preliminary investigation indicates the death was caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Scanlon said. Man Loses Fingers, Critical Injuries After Fireworks Explode In His Hands, Stamford Police Say
A Fairfield County man was critically wounded after allegedly setting off fireworks that exploded in his hands, removing at least one of his fingers and causing extensive damage. The incident took place around 8:50 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, at Scalzi Park in Stamford, said Assistant Police Chief Tom Wuennemann. A 68-year-old Stamford man was arrested after firing shots from inside his car, that went into Scalzi Park while two youth football practices and an adult softball game were underway. James Denardo was charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm, interfering with police, 50 counts of reckless endangerment and 22 counts of risk of injury to a minor, after being pulled from his maroon Cadillac by Stamford Police, said Capt.
