Heat Wave: Eversource Preparing For High Electricity Use In CT During Stretch Of High Temps With sweltering temperatures predicted to arrive in Connecticut and stay for several days, Eversource is preparing its electric system for high use to ensure residents can stay cool. It didn't become a (mostly) nationwide event until the  Uniform Time Act of 1966. Arizona and Hawaii do not participate  Daylight Saving Time's eight-month run lasts through early November.
