Registration Opens For Winter, Spring Courses At Housatonic In Bridgeport

Winter term classes will begin Tuesday, Dec. 27, and end Friday, Jan. 13.

Spring 2017 classes will start on Thursday, Jan. 19. Weekend classes will start on Saturday, Jan. 21.

Winter session classes are accelerated with classes generally held Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon. Laboratory time for science courses is immediately after the class. Students can earn three to four credits a course.

Courses are open to continuing HCC students, new students and students from other colleges.

Students are encouraged to register now for the spring term to get their first choice as to class days and times. To facilitate the registration process, Super Saturday will be held on Jan. 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Financial aid and student services offices will be open in Lafayette Hall, and students will be able to complete registration requirements that day. Open Advising will take place in the Performing Arts Center.

Additionally, offices will be open until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, and Jan. 18 for registration.

The college offers a variety of programs, and students can choose from associate degree programs in the sciences, technology, arts, early childhood education, business, and allied health, or from a variety certificate programs.

Students students can now take advantage of the transfer arrangements with the Connecticut State Universities and Charter Oak, which will admit HCC students who have successfully completed their HCC associate degree work as university third-year students, able to continue their studies towards a bachelor’s degree.

To date, HCC associate degrees that qualify for seamless transfer are in studies in biology, chemistry, criminology, English, history, mathematics, political science, psychology, social work and sociology.
