Shelton To Begin Demolition Of Former Chromium Process Site

SHELTON, Conn. -- Shelton Mayor Mark A. Lauretti announced that the contract for the demolition of the Chromium Process site at 113 Canal St. has been awarded to the Standard Demolition Services of Trumbull, according to Valley Independent Sentinel.

The Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development/Office of Brownfield Remediation Development awarded Shelton a $1,519,470 grant, which will fund the demolition, Valley Independent Sentinel reported. 

Demolition is expected to begin in mid-July and last for 12 weeks into September, Valley Independent Sentinel said.
