Sponsored by the Fairfield League of Women Voters, the free event's featured speaker – Alicia Kinsman – is director and managing attorney for immigration legal services with the International Institute of Connecticut, a nonprofit agency offering services to immigrants and refugees in the Bridgeport area, according to a statement from organizers.
Kinsman’s talk, “Immigration: The Facts of the Matter,” will aim to clearly define many terms often used in the immigration discussion, including the words “undocumented,” “illegal alien,” “green card,” “refugee” and “Dreamers,” according to the League of Women Voters, who said that Kinsman will also discuss the current citizenship process and the barriers that exist within it.
Kinsman is to speak at the museum from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, according to event organizers, who said that doors to the free talk are scheduled to open at 2:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
