Workers Tracking 'Putrid Smell' Make Grisly Discovery At Bridgeport Court

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Court officials tracking a “putrid smell” at the Golden Hill Street courthouse made a gruesome discovery Wednesday — two decapitated chickens under a bench, according to the Connecticut Post.

The investigation continues into how two decapitated chickens made their way into a Bridgeport courthouse.

The chickens, decorated in gold, green and silver glitter, were found feet up in the large arraignment court, the Post said.

And this isn’t the first time: Decapitated chickens have been found in both the Golden Hill and Main Street courthouses and some believe they are part of a Santeria ritual to protect a person from being found guilty, according to the Post.

It’s unclear how the chickens got in the room and the incident is under investigation.
