SHELTON, Conn. — The Huntington Fire Company begins every Memorial Day by honoring its past members with a ceremonial flag lowering at "Monument Rock," according to a Facebook post.
That is followed by a blessing and reading of each member's name who has passed since its inception in 1919.
"We pay honor to all the veterans no longer with us and to those who have served, or are still serving our country. We thank you for the freedom we have," the Facebook post says.
