Officers were dispatched at about 1 p.m. Aug. 10 to the area of 915 Bridgeport Ave., a part of Avalon Condominiums, police said.

The victim told officers that he was followed there by a gold Honda Odyssey, police said. When he got out of his car, a Hispanic male jumped out of the rear of the minivan with a handgun and demanded the victim’s money, police said.

The victim said he turned over his money and the vehicle took off, police said.

The Connecticut Post said the victim had been followed from an unnamed Bridgeport-area business and was robbed of a large amount of cash and checks.

Shelton Police are actively investigating and anyone with any information on the incident is asked to call the Shelton Police Department at 203-924-1544.
