Police Search For Hit-Run Pickup Truck Driver Who Struck East Northport Home

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Precinct Crime Section officers are on the lookout for the driver of a pickup truck who has been accused of striking a home in East Northport.

Police say an unknown person crashed a light-colored pickup truck into a garage door (184 Stony Hollow Road) on Saturday, July 6 around 12:30 p.m. Police say the vehicle would be missing a front metal tow loop (similar to the one shown here).

Police say the unknown person crashed a light-colored pickup truck into a garage door at 184 Stony Hollow Road on Saturday, July 6 around 12:30 p.m. Officers say the vehicle’s driver also hit a tree before fleeing the scene northbound on Stony Hollow Road toward Pulaski Road.

The truck is believed to have been a Ford or Chevrolet pickup truck with a male driver, and witnesses on the scene say the license plate started with GMR or GWR, according to police. The vehicle would be missing a front metal tow loop, police say.
