A 42-year-old man who was arrested for alleged impaired driving refused to submit to a breathalyzer after being taken into custody following a crash, police said.
Members of the Milford Police Department responded to Naugatuck Avenue near Greenview Lane shortly before 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, where there was a report of a motorist who had lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole.
According to police, the investigation into the crash led to the arrest of Milford resident Jesse Porto, who was allegedly driving drunk. Once he was in police custody, he refused to comply with officers’ requests to provide a breath sample.
Porto was charged with driving under the influence and cited for failing to maintain his lane before he struck the pole. He is currently being held on $500 bond.
