Man In Vehicle Stolen On Long Island Charged In Greenwich, Police Say

A man driving a vehicle stolen on Long Island was apprehended in Fairfield County, police say.

Greenwich Police say they observed a vehicle stopped in the middle of Greenwich Avenue around 12 a.m. on Thursday, April 11.

Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen due to lack of insurance and had been stolen from Garden City, according to police.

The driver was identified as 65-year-old William Wood of Brooklyn, police say. Wood was charged with third-degree larceny, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

Wood was unable to post his $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, April 25.
