A man has been charged with assault after his involvement in a Greenwich dispute caused a woman to sustain injuries, according to police.
Greenwich Police say they responded to a Ridgeview Avenue residence on a report of a possible physical altercation between two males and a female on Wednesday, June 12 around 5 a.m.
Further investigation revealed that a verbal altercation had taken place between a male, identified as Dennis Olmstead, 61, and a female party, police say.
The verbal altercation escalated, and police say Olmstead pushed a door open, which struck the female victim above her left eye.
The female then fell backward and hit the back of her head on the marble floor of the residence, according to police.
Police say the female sustained a visible injury above her left eye.
Based on these facts, Olmstead was arrested, processed and charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.
Olmstead was released after posting a $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on Thursday, June 13.
