Man Caught Hiding Items Shoplifted From CVS In His Jacket, Greenwich Police Say

A 76-year-old man was found hiding more than $50 worth of items in his jacket after leaving a local CVS store.

Antonio Gagliardi, 76, of Greenwich, was arrested on Tuesday after Greenwich Police were called to the CVS store on West Putnam Avenue for a report of shoplifting, Greenwich Police said.

An investigation found that Gagliardi secreted more than $50 worth of merchandise from the store inside his jacket and left without paying, police said.

He was later located and charged with larceny and released on a promise to appear notice. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 6.
