A Milford police officer saved a man who attempted to hang himself after calling the police, the department said on Twitter.
According to the Milford Police Department, the department received a call around 9 a.m. from a resident who said they were considering harming themselves, the Twitter post said.
Milford Officer Will Barbour was working a private duty job near the residence and quickly responded.
When he arrived he found the man hanging from a rope on his deck and quickly cut him down with the assistance of the Milford Fire Department Rescue.
The rescue crew transported the man to the emergency room, police said. The resident is in “stable but critical” condition Thursday.
