SHELTON, Conn. -- A local resident was duly honored this week for his birthday and Father's Day, and moreover, for his 60-plus years of service to the Huntington Fire Company 3 in Shelton.
The distinction was cause for a celebration at the fire department where Kraemer was also feted for his army service in World War II.
The local resident served under General George Patton in an armored tank division and fought many battles, including Battle of the Bulge.
A party included Kraemer favorites, Boston creme donuts and coffee.
