Fairfield Man Accused Of Exposing Himself To Passersby At Beach

A Fairfield County man allegedly exposed his genitals to passerby at an area beach, leading to his arrest, police said.

Members of the Milford Police Department responded to Woodmont Beach near Beach Avenue and Wall Street at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, where there was a report of a man who exposed himself to several people in the area.

The investigation into the reported incident led police to Town of Fairfield resident Roger Sherwood, 55, who was found on the beach in his underwear.

Police said that the witness stated that she and her female friends were walking in the area, when Sherwood exposed his penis to the women and began masturbating in front of them. At the time of his arrest, Sherwood was also in possession of marijuana.

Sherwood was arrested and charged with public indecency, breach of peace, possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sherwood was released on $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on June 18 to respond to the charges.
