Maritza Nieves’ boyfriend initially told police Monday that he was stabbed by “some men during a robbery,” according to the Post, which reported that police suspected he was lying because nothing was taken from him and he could not describe his attackers.
While the victim’s injuries were described as serious, police said they are non-life-threatening, according to the Post. Nieves was charged with second-degree assault and held on $20,000 bond, the Post said.
