Study: Connecticut Ranks 7th With Biggest Drug Problems

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Connecticut was ranked the seventh worst in terms of drug use by state, according to WalletHub.

The study compares the 50 states and the District of Columbia in 15 key metrics, ranging from arrest and overdose rates to opioid prescriptions and meth-lab incidents per capita.

Connecticut had the highest number of people receiving drug treatment per 100,000 drug users. It also ranked fourth in percentage of teenagers who were offered, sold or given illegal drugs in the past year.

Washington, D.C. was rated as the worst, with Vermont, Colorado, Delaware and Rhode Island rounding out the top 5. Idaho had the smallest drug problem.
